Pankaj Mehta, MD, is board certified in internal medicine, critical care, pulmonary disease, and sleep medicine.
Dr. Mehta earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India. He then completed an internal medicine residence with Maulana Azad Medical College, even serving as Chief Resident. Dr. Mehta then completed another internal medicine residency with Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He then stayed in Syracuse to complete a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Upstate Medical College. Dr. Mehta continued to specialize in his field further by completing a sleep fellowship in Boston with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Dr. Mehta has held various professional positions throughout his career, including Respiratory Care program director at Hawkeye Community College and Adjunct Faculty at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has also played key roles at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa, serving as medical director of the Sleep Center and associate medical director of the Intensive Care Unit.
Beyond his professional commitments, Dr. Mehta actively engages in community and voluntary service. His dedication is demonstrated through medical conference presentations, healthcare seminars, and involvement in programs such as the National Pulse Polio Eradication Program.
