John Ambrose, MD, specializes in cardiac consultation, cardiac catheterization and coronary angiography – including angioplasty, stenting and angioplasty utilizing the radial (wrist) approach. He received his board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiology and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Ambrose completed his internship, residency and fellowship training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. His undergraduate work was at St. John’s University and his medical degree was at New York Medical College.
Dr. Ambrose was the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory of the Mount Sinai Hospital and prior to coming to Fresno as Chief of Cardiology at UCSF, he served as the Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Center at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center. He is a nationally and internationally known expert in the field of coronary artery disease who has published extensively. He lectures throughout the world and has served as Governor of the New York Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and President of the New York Cardiologic Society. He has been included in every edition of “Best Doctors in America.”
He and his wife are members of the Fresno Grand Opera chorus and enjoying singing in operas. They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. They enjoy traveling and the California coast. Dr. Ambrose likes Saturday mornings.
